Connsmitten Terms of Service
Effective date: October 13, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Connsmitten ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Connsmitten, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Connsmitten
You must be at least 13. One account per person; keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
2. What Connsmitten is
Connsmitten teaches communication and social skills through lessons, practice conversations with AI characters, and AI-generated feedback.
Connsmitten is coaching for everyday skills. It is not therapy, counseling, medical, legal, or other professional advice, and it doesn't diagnose or treat any condition.
3. AI-generated content
Practice partners and feedback are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate, and they don't reflect our views. Use your own judgment before acting on them. If you see something offensive or harmful, report it in the app.
4. Your content
You own what you submit in Connsmitten ("your content"). You give us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content, including to our AI providers, only to provide and improve the service for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. The license ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies the law requires us to keep.
Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Some features require a paid subscription. Plans, prices, and billing periods are shown before you subscribe.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. We show the price, billing period, and renewal terms before you confirm, and email you a confirmation that explains how to cancel.
- Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, we show its length, when you will first be charged, and the price after it before you start.
- Cancel online, anytime. On the web, cancel in your account settings at connsmitten.com. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Price changes. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
- App Store and Google Play purchases are billed by Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google.
6. Refunds
Web subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Payments are non-refundable except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If you live in the EU or UK, you can withdraw from a web subscription within 14 days of buying it. If you asked us to start the service immediately, we may deduct an amount for the part of the period you used. To request a refund, email support@connsmitten.com.
7. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or use Connsmitten to plan doing so;
- try to make the AI produce illegal, sexual content involving minors, or other harmful content;
- access Connsmitten by automated means, scrape it, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows;
- interfere with the service or other users, or share your account;
- resell or redistribute the service.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
8. Our content and feedback
Connsmitten's lessons, characters, design, software, and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them through the service while your account is in good standing. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
9. Changes to the service
We may add, change, or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you, and you can cancel.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we must for legal reasons; where reasonable, we will tell you first and explain why. Sections 4 (for content we still hold), 8, and 11 to 16 survive.
11. Disclaimers
Connsmitten is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Connsmitten is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes go to a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States, and either of us may instead bring a claim in small claims court. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.
Before filing a claim, please email support@connsmitten.com; most problems can be fixed quickly.
14. Changes to these terms
We will post updated terms here with a new effective date. For a significant change, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Connsmitten after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
15. Transfer
We may transfer these terms, and your account, to a company formed to run Connsmitten or to a successor of the business. We will tell you before that happens. You may not transfer your rights under these terms.
16. Apple App Store
If you use the iOS app: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims. If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price where applicable. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the iOS app.
17. Everything else
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Connsmitten. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver.
